Holistic Wellness for Georgia's Refugees

Harmony Refugee Services took on a new project for the holiday season this year. We registered with Toys for Tots to provide toys for our clients and their families. Many of our clients come to the United States with very little, and toys tend to be a 'luxury' item that many of them cannot afford.

We turned the art room into a toy room for the month of December. Parents came up to the room and were able to choose two toys for each of their children. We wanted the toys to be from the parents, not from us. It was exciting to watch parents choose toys and they were excited to be able to give a gift to their children. We were able to provide toys to 115 children from 40 different families from ten different countries. Our plan is to make this an annual event for our office.
